
Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976 in Torrance, California. He grew up in southern California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was a top player on the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez was a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He led the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, Gonzalez set the record for school bowls with nine receptions. A few months later Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After that, he left the school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was part of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't catch fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
