McKayla Rose Maroney has retired as an American musician and artist. She competed in 2012 Summer Olympics as a part of in the American Women's Gymnastics Team often referred to by the name of Fierce Five. At the Olympics she won an individual silver medal as well as a gold medal for the team. The beginning of her life. McKayla Rose Maroney is the daughter of Erin Maroney and Mike Maroney. (died 2019.) McKayla has Irish Catholic heritage. McKayla had two brothers: Tarynn and Kav. Her homeschooling was completed to prepare her for competitive gymnastics. Maroney recalls, "When i was a child, I would watch Tarzan as I ran on all fours. My mom would say, "I should put this child in gymnastics." Lauren Drain is a former participant in the Westboro Baptist Church who wrote the 2013 book Banished, which chronicles her experience and ultimately, the expulsion from the church. Lauren is married to David Kagan since August 2013 and is also an athlete. Aria Skye Kagan (born December 29 2019,) is their child. Lauren was briefly in Topeka on her own however she was plagued with the recollections of her expulsion from church and family. Her father, mother, two siblings, and her brother were members of the church, but they cut off all connection to her.
